Guerrilla Warhair, the brainchild of Seattle hairstylist Sean Lowry, is a simple concept: Two people on stage, one the cutter, the other a willing victim. The backdrop is Seattleās Mars Bar on Eastlake Avenue, the soundtrack provided by DJ Temporary Secretary (aka Seth Bedwell). Add alcohol, good food, and all of your closest friends and the results are a good time, everytime.
Guerrilla Warhair takes place on the third Wednesday of every month at the Mars Bar (609 Eastlake Avenue East, Seattle). Cuts are first come, first serve with a signup sheet going out at 8:30pm and cuts starting at 9. Sean cuts until the last of the drunks find their way out the door.
As Sean Lowry told Seattle Magazine, "It's definitely a different hair cutting experience than most people have had. It's not sitting in a cape staring into a mirror. At the show, you're a focal point."
